About our
Grantham
nursery

Our Grantham Nursery is inviting and warm with a home from home feel. With dedicated areas
for different age ranges, we offer appropriate learning and experiences tailored by age.
All the rooms within our nursery and the outside areas build the
children’s interests and aim to stimulate their curiosity.

Our children are served seasonal, healthy lunches and snacks daily. We cater for any dietary
requirements as well as support the weaning process for babies.

At our nursery in Grantham, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum,
supporting all areas of your child’s development from three months until they are ready to go to school.
Our early years practitioners monitor each child’s progress and plan a variety of enrichment
experiences to support individual development in all areas of learning.

Typical Day

A typical day at nursery would involve lots of time outside – whether it is a walk around the village or making mud pies in our lovely mud kitchen. Children learn best from real experiences of textures, smells etc. and we find the best place to experience all this is the outside.

We sing lots of nursery rhymes, but also have quiet times for reading books as well as free play and structured activities to develop our children’s next steps. We try to make everyday fun and provide lots of opportunities to learn. Activities are planned around our children’s interests so they are engaged and learning along the way.

Outside Area

In our large outside area we have a sensory kitchen, a climbing frame, a planting area and a variety of different outdoor toys and resources.

Once a week, we take the children for a walk outside for a range of exciting Forest School activities. The Forest School is an inspirational process that offers all our children regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a woodland or natural environment with trees.

Our Community

We work in partnership with the community and regularly involve our children with community activities such as carol singing for the retirement home next door each Christmas and visiting the local church. We also post Christmas letters at the local post office each year.
